KM3NeT experiment LPC CAEN is launching a new production site for the KM3NeT neutrino telescope, currently being deployed at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. KM3NeT is composed of several thousand optical modules (DOMs) to collect Cherenkov light produced by the interaction of cosmic particles The LPC CAEN takes care of the electrical and optical […]

LISA – Laser Interferometer Space Antenna
LISA – Laser Interferometer Space Antenna A space detector for a new messenger, the gravitational waves Modern astronomy will be gravitational astronomy! It was a century after Albert Einstein’s prediction that on September 14, 2015, with the announcementof the first direct detection of gravitational waves, physicists around the world have seen thephysicists all over the […]
Investigation into the origins of matter
CNRS | Le journal What was matter made of less than a millionth of a second after the Big Bang? An international team of scientists has devised a large-scale experiment to investigate… in the heart of the neutron. Because in this particle, there may be crucial clues to the appearance of matter. https://www.lpc-caen.in2p3.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Aux-origines-de-la-matiere-_-Reportage-CNRS.mp4Titre original : […]
The MORA experiment is installed at JYFL
The installation of the MORA experiment at the Jyväskylä laboratory in Finland was completed at the end of January 2002, by the technical team of the LPC Caen. The first experiment at the end of February will start the research program for the origin of matter and antimatter asymmetry, which will be pursued at DESIR.
Six operational ARCA detection units in the infrastructure of the Italian KM3NeT site off Sicily
During a week-long at-sea campaign from April 8 to 14, 2021, the underwater infrastructure of the Italian KM3NeT site off Sicily was successfully implemented. In addition, five new KM3NeT / ARCA sensor units were connected and have since been operational. Located in the Mediterranean Sea at a depth of 3500 m, about 80 km off […]
