Nuclear sciences applications

In response to strong societal demands, the laboratory conducts interdisciplinary and applied research in the field of hadrontherapy (treatment of cancers using ion beams) and in the experimental physics of fast and subcritical reactors driven by accelerator facilities (or ADS) and in nuclear data measurements. These 2 scientific teams make up the laboratory’s “Nuclear Science Applications” pole.

Medical & Industrial Applications

Dosimetry & metrology of ionizing radiation. Effective sections & hadrontherapy.
Modeling the effects of radiotherapy.

Nuclear waste management

Experimental physics of accelerator-driven fast and subcritical reactors (or ADS).
Nuclear data measurements.
