Scientific and technical information (STI) includes all the information produced by research. It is a valuable and necessary capital for researchers. The provision of quality scientific resources that meet the needs of research units is therefore at the heart of the CNRS’s concerns. Open science consists in making research results, most of which come from public funds, “accessible as much as possible and closed as much as necessary”. The CNRS has been very committed to the development of open science for many years.

HAL | Open archive of scientific publications
Based on the principle of self-archiving, the HAL portal makes the scientific production of all Higher Education, Research and Innovation institutions available to all publics, in free access.
Our collection : HAL | LPC Caen
Since 2017, IN2P3 laboratories have been centralizing the listing and cataloguing of their scientific production in the database INSPIRE-HEP of CERN. In this way, the value of our publications is optimized by the Institute’s documentalists. After validation, these data are automatically transferred to the open HAL archive.

Our affiliation takes into account the recommendations of the University Caen Normandie, CNRS and IN2P3, it must be used in all scientific publications. The different elements of the address must be kept in the order indicated.
1) Create your numeric identifier ORCID
2) Respect the affiliation, even if you depend on a single institution.
3) Deposit your preprint in ArXiv
Not only does this open preprints platform bring you a large visibility before being published, but above all it facilitates the import in HAL (our open archive) and afterwards the referencing of your publication. You should also be aware that the major international publication databases “harvest” ArXiv. This is why it is essential to inform your affiliation and those of your co-authors also in this platform.
4) Regularly check your list of publications in HAL (or via the website of the laboratory)
5) Finally, update your references !
